Well, as this playoff series came to a close, only one team could walk away with the Stanley
Cup in their hands. Would it be Calgary? The physical, aggressive team from Canada, or would it be the Tampa Bay Lightning?
The young, talented, firey team from Florida? In a 7 game series never to be forgotten, it was TAMPA that took
Lord Stanley's cup back home to the beach.
You better believe it! The Tampa Bay Lightning
won the 2004 Stanley Cup Championship on
June 7, 2004!
Ruslan Fedotenko led the series with 12 goals- and was nicknamed the new 'Mr. Clutch' by his teammates.
He not only shined throughout the series, he managed to score the ONLY TWO goals of the Lightning in Game 7, therefore making
his second goal the game winner.
Rusty not only proved himself to Tampa Bay, he also got his final revenge on Philadelphia!

Well, Rusty, it's no surprise that you would shine down there in Tampa- nor is it a surprise that
you led the team in this fantastic playoff series, we always believed! From Iowa...to Trenton...to Philly...to Tampa....it's
been an amazing journey, but this is not the end!
